3D has been something I liked from the beginning. Whether you build 3D models as a hobby, for games, for video or for web-visuals, it’s always fun to work with. And the results can be quite good. I haven’t finished many projects so for me it was more hobby and a learning curve. I’ve worked on animations, still renders, product visualisations and done game-modeling for various game titles. Here I show you some still renders and 2 rather old animations. Old, but I still like the look and feel of them.

The Spaceman.

The Spaceman was a really fun project. It was first intended to be used on my 3D portfolio back in 2003 in order to join the NFTA (Nederlandse Film & TV Academie)

The story is about a Soviet cosmonaut who went in his rocket to Mars. There he first jumps around, dances and makes a picture of him in front of a big monumental rock.

*spoiler*
Then, on the picture he sees something strange… he looks around and it’s not there anymore in real life.

Then something ticks him on the back, he looks around and sees this green big alien.

Here it stops, but the rest of the story was going to be as follows:
In posh English the alien starts talking and asks if all the garbage belonged to him. Then he points to various crashed spaceship and sattelites. He says it all belongs to the Americans. Then the Alien says “good, now go and tell them if they arrive they will have to clean up the mess.” while the alien points at some cleaning gear.  Next shot the cosmonaut is back in the Soviet Union and he reports to the president “let America be first with camera’s, you don’t want to show live to the world that your astronaut is being send away as the first human cleaner on Mars”.

Naarden Gardens.

Naarden Gardens is a 3D visualisation that I’ve done for Hooper Architects. I had a very thight deadline but I made it and they where very pleased. I really liked working on this project.

They gave be the blueprints and a car visualisation. However for a visual representation like this, the whole model had to be remodeled.

StFoto.nl Promomovie

In order to train myself a bit more in 3D Studio max, I thought it would be nice to make some short promotion movies for stfoto.nl, which was mine anyway. This is one of the 4 I had planned. The second one became a bit a too large project considering I also had to finish high-school at the time. I was in the middle of my exams.

Still, I finished this one and eventhough it’s extremely simple, I like it.
